ROAMance is a guided experience in which the proxemics of embodiment in 6 degrees of freedom, worldbuilding, social engineering and a discreet narrative are all subjected to the single goal of facilitating an engaging, open, meaningful and unbiased conversation with another human being. It is designed to celebrate the encounter and encourage attentiveness by setting you up on an eventful walk in virtual reality with a perfect stranger whose features you will have to virtually devise based on your interaction alone. ROAMance is an exercise in nurturing deep connections in the media landscape that is dominated by the immediacy of swiping, and the aesthetic regime of beauty. ROAMance will first have a festival run as a location based experience for two participants or a performance for two participants. It will later be released as a standalone app for the 6DoF headsets that will serve both as a standalone experience and an alternative to the dating apps available on the market.
